Share of voice
Share of voice is a brand's percentage of detected mentions across your primary brand and active competitors, within the selected evidence scope.
It measures your configured comparison set. It is not market share or a share of every conversation happening on an AI platform.
How it works
If your brand has 45 detected mentions and all tracked brands together have 100, your share of voice is 45%.
An answer can mention several brands. Mention rate uses captured responses as its denominator; share of voice uses total detected brand mentions.
Read the chart
Open Performance for the primary brand's headline share, or use the analytics detail view to compare competitors and mention counts. Choose a date range and segment to set the comparison scope.
A higher share means more of the detected mentions belong to your brand. Read visibility alongside it: you can have a large share of a very small number of mentions.
Compare periods fairly
Keep the active competitor set, prompts, and models consistent. Adding, pausing, or deleting a competitor changes the denominator. Brand alias changes and reanalysis can also change historical counts.
A falling share may reflect more competitor mentions, fewer mentions of your brand, or a different evidence sample. Open the relevant responses to find out which changed.
Act on the evidence
Review answer gaps for relevant questions where competitors appear. Use Reports to share the comparison, including its date range and segment scope.
After publishing content, compare later runs with your baseline. A change in share alone does not prove that the content caused it.
